Ramesh is South Africa's first solo MC to release a full length album. As one of the country's founding fathers of Hip Hop. He has been an active member of the culture and industry since the late 80's and has played an important role in growing local Hip Hop to what it is today. Expanding beyond music; Ramesh currently travels the country lecturing on South Africa's little known role in the origins of Hip Hop, both locally and internationally. Over the years, Ramesh has worked with organisations such as The City of Joburg, SABC 1, SABC 2, Department of Education, Arts and Culture, Metro Fm, Channel O, Levi's, Hype Magazine, READ, Yfm and Urban Voices to name a few. His role as a leader within the culture has given rise to many other brands on the country's entertainment landscape.
Ramesh's music and video collaborations have been with artists such as the late Flabba (who was also his best friend), Lira, Clint Brink, Akin Omotoso, Mr. Selwyn, Amu, Fortune, Khuli Chana, Slikour, RJ Benjamin, Shugga Smaxx, Relo, Kabomo, Wanda Baloyi, Nothende, Bongo Riot, MXO, Gaoza and producers Omen, Zethu and Hoodlum. Hip Hop Heritage is a Cultural Movement; established for the preservation of South Africa’s legacy in the establishment of the biggest youth culture in the world which is popularly known as Hip Hop. Our mission is to empower South African communities with Knowledge, Wisdom necessary for Understanding ways of achieving Food, Clothing and Shelter through skills and knowledge transfer. Our vision is to instil Hip Hop’s founding principles of Ubuntu which are essential in attaining Love, Peace and happiness through which Justice, Freedom and Equality may truly be enjoyed.
